Until a year ago, the main thing I knew Overstreet for was running his mouth off about how braindead btrfs is, and how bad its design was. He may or may not have a point, i don't know enough to judge. But it seems at the moment that there are some horrific bugs in bcachefs, which suggests that Overstreet perhaps isn't the genius he thinks he is.

It will be interesting to see if this continues in the next round of benchmarks, or if it was a temporary regression.
My GF watches lots of TV live - reality TV and sometimes drama. If she watches it late, then the results have been spoiled on twitter/FB etc.

Linux doesn't force you to reboot, and these days you don't have to reboot at all with kernel splicing.

I feel like a lot of mindshare moved over to XBMC. Kodi has a better user interface, but I think MythTV had a better backend.
It was always somewhat challenging to get everything working perfectly, but the ability to set up recordings on one TV (or remotely by web) and watch them on another TV was/is fantastic.
Playing music was always wierd - you needed to set up nfs mounts from the music server to play the files on your remote screens - it would make a lot of sense for them to be streamed automatically from the mythtv backend. But I get the idea that maybe some quite old protocols are in use and it would be a lot of work to change them.

One thing that will help with humans is for us to come up with a commercial reason to have people living on the moon, as once its profitable then we'll find ourselves with a rapidly expanding colony (which will be amazing).
According to recent phoronix articles its the games not the drivers. The drivers are within a few percent, but games can end up anywhere from 30% of windows performance to parity.
Surely we shouldn't even consider sending people over until we've had self-supporting robots over them for 10+ years setting up industry or whatever's necessary to sustain life without dependence on supplies from earth.
The new nVidia GPUs have quite high TDP sadly... Will these new AMD ones go as low as the GTX 750 Ti? Those were great for fanless operation.
