Journal SiliconJesus's Journal: Oops I did it again 18

My wife's pregnant again. I know its way early to be officiating something, but goddamnit, its a good feeling. On the bad side, her OB is about 100 miles away. She has an appt with a new one as soon as we get back from vacation in August.

I swear she's showing already.

And no, we're not naming it Ethelred. I'm fairly certain that its not John's.

  • For some reason Lucifer isn't that popular. Certainly more interesting than John or David :-)
    • My son and I both have hebrew names, but my wife and I are sora leaning towards Xavier or Alexander (Xander) for this one. Being Jewish by birth, I liked the idea of having a Hebrew name, but am willing to pass that in order to have a more vibrant name. William also has a strong showing as its a family name for both sides of our family.

As for girl names, we're sorta leaning towards Elizabeth or similar. We didn't already have nine months to go over girl names as we did with boys, so its coming more easil
      • How about Ehud? Name him after the left-handed judge.

        Judges Chapter 3
15 But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised them up a savior, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a man left-handed. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

16 Ehud made him a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he girded it under his clothing on his right thigh.

17 He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab: now Eglon was a very fat man.

18 When he had made an end of offeri

  • You made me picture you in a Catholic School Girl outfit! (Ok, so you didn't, but hopefully that comment made someone else do it!) Muwahahahahaah!
    • Yanno, my wife's a Catholic School teacher, and they do make the uniforms in adult sizes. I'll just have to get her to order one for herself before she gets too much bigger o_O
  • congratulations sj!

now, this new one gets to learn to play guitar, right? i mean, gotta round out the band, yes?
    • Sadly, it appears my first born is destined to guitar fame. He's constantly walking around with an old broken acoustic I have lying about, and all of his toy guitars. I'll have to make the new one either bass or vocals. Screw it, I'll play drums.
  • Of course Ethelred is my real name! "John" is just a silly alias my parents gave me when I was born.

And under my regime, all children will be named Ethelred. I swear it!

Meanwhile I expect your child to swear fealty to my cause immediately after birth. This may be done by squalling.

    Cheers,

    Ethelred

    PS: Uh, congrats!

    • WTF? I just noticed they claim the name "Ethelred" is unisex?

I'm adding them to my list of people to be put up against the wall.

      Cheers,

      Ethelred "the Manly"
