The issue is Mac minis etc. are not Ferraris. Apple makes their devices purposefully difficult for users or 3rd parties to repair this has been true since the introduction of the first Mac - the Apple ][ was highly customizable and very successful. They do this not because they are premium but because they want the revenue from AppleCare and donâ(TM)t want you upgrading anything on your own. Itâ(TM)s a closed system to lock you in and itâ(TM)s been very effective for them and their users donâ(TM)t realize how much they are being fleeced. With the PC ecosystem you can build a whole PC from scratch and replace or upgrade any component at any time. This is why Macs have a good but not a majority share of the computer market. They make very good devices but they charge a premium for them and fleece you on repairs or very expensive upfront upgrades relative to their actual costs. For example they charge hundreds for more ram that should cost $50. With a PC you can buy less and upgrade later if you need it. With a Mac you have to decide upfront and you are locked in for the life of the product.
