It's very relevant because the very existence of NATO is you can be protected in the same way without having to have every country own their own nuclear stockpiles. Again Latvia doesn't need it's own nukes since it's part of NATO. Extremely relevant.

That's completely incoherent. Relevant to what? How is any of that relevant to whether it was the United States or NATO that attacked Iraq?

I guess maybe if Iraq had been a member of NATO that would have deterred the United States from attacking Iraq. Since we would have bombed ourselves in retaliation?

Sure and if do that you end up with Iraq 2003 a war so unpopular it destroyed the Neo-conservative ideology.

And, as a minor side effect, killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's, in addition to Saddam, and left the country in chaos. None of which would have happened if Saddam had nuclear weapons.

Easy to do since it's easy to track so we could tell they were struggling just getting centrifuges up and running. If Libya had an entire enrichment facility up and operating you think it'd be a "oh well, they got us"

North Korea, Israel, India, Pakistan, South Africa ... there are a bunch of countries that have managed it. And Libya was not trying to do it on their own. It was soliciting help from countries who had. But once again its irrelevant. If they had nuclear weapons NATO wouldn't have bombed Libya, nor encouraged a civil war. Imagine if one of the militias operating there had inherited a nuclear arsenal.

Boswell is still operating in Cohasset MN @ 100 miles west and seven coal plants in North Dakota have been operating for decades.

that’s nearly non-existent now.

You think the mercury just disappears?

The last coal fired refining plant for iron is at Duluth 100 miles south

Burning coal is not the primary way mining releases mercury into a watershed.

That constitution originally didn't give the vote to anyone but landed white males

The US constitution didn't give the vote to anyone. Voting rights were determined by states and you are correct they mostly only gave the vote to free males often with a property requirement. But black males who met those qualifications were also eligible to vote in some states. In fact, some women with property were initially allowed to vote.

today it says anyone convicted of a crime can be enslaved

Not really. People convicted of a crime are not owned by anyone and neither are their offspring. They can be forced to work while in prison. On the other hand, at the time the constitution was adopted, apprentices were indentured to their "master" and could be forced to work. Runaway apprentices would be captured and returned to their master. The only real difference between an apprentice and a slave was that it was not a lifetime bondage and it wasn't inherited by their offspring. But that is a pretty significant difference.

scotus is too much of a pussy to take up important cases

That is complete BS. The supreme court is a bunch of authoritarian, power hungry politicians who have effectively taken control of the government. Their opinions are law and the constitution says whatever they want it to say.

I am doubtful. The boundary waters is right on the edge of the Mesabi Iron Range. And I brelieve most of the mercury comes from local coal plants and other industrial processes along with accumulated mercury in forests and wetlands. Not worldwide air pollution.
