Journal Red Warrior's Journal: TL (and cast of men) B00BS: Real or Memorex? 29

So, the other day, a RL female friend of mine indicated that she may consider getting her assets augmented. She asked for my feedback as to whether guys had a strong preference.

I had to admit that I have no basis to judge, lacking an augmented volunteer to play adjust the radio with. :-(

However, I thought it might be more interesting that the current questionaire meme going around. If you're a guy: Real or Memorex? Do you care?

Tell her to do just one of them, and let you play with them and see which you prefer.
  • Real. Absolutely. Unless there is something truly abnormal about the anatomy, or for reconstructive purposes, I find the real preferable to the alternative for aesthetic reasons. There are a whole host of other reasons I prefer real as well. 1) False advertising. 2) long standing known medical issues in that implants are *not* permanent. They must be replaced at least a couple of times during the lifetime adding in risks associated with surgery and anesthesia. 3) unknown medical issues in that sil
    • Same here. Unless you have a reason for it (other than confidence), fake tits just don't look good naked. Yeah, in a push up bra, they are the shit, but once the bra comes off, most guys expect them to fall into that 'natural teardrop' shape... not just stand there. Just doesn't look natural and I totally don't dig them.

Uh, yeah. What the smart guy said. I totally agree.

My anecdotal evidence is that there are some really smoking hot ladies out there with small breasts. I even married one.

  • I'm not a big fan of the concept. I like women like I like I like food-- natural and with minimal tweaking. I also think it's scary to modify one's body like that for purely vanity's sake. That said, if you have a mastectomy or are missing part of something very cosmetically important (say an eye or ear), that's a completely different story. There I could see decent justification for modifying something...but for more than just vanity's sake.

Besides, it's rather obvious to me when I see implants-- they l
  • Personally I prefer real to fake. Of course, it really does depend on the surgeon - if he/she does a good job, they can be almost indistinguishable from real boobs, but if it is not a good job, then they can be downright hideous. Only a very small handful of girls with fake boobs that I know were convincing - the rest either "sat" wrong, didn't move properly or just felt too firm when handling the goods.

Unless there is a genuine need (mastectomy, serious self-esteem issues, etc) then stick with what God gav
  • But I am anti-surgery, both augmentation and reduction, except, as Pancho said, in cases of reconstructive surgery or other disfiguration.

One thing to keep in mind is that with both procedures, and particularly with augmentation, significant cutting of nerves can be part of the procedure (even to the extent of cutting away the entire nipple and areola and stitching it back on in a more aesthetically appropriate place). This leaves the breasts themselves *literally* serving a sheerly ornamental purpose, an

That's one thing I forgot to mention in my reply - sensitivity. With most breast enlargement procedures, you can expect to lose at least some sensitivity - in many cases, virtually all sensitivity is gone. That means that foreplay focussing on the breasts becomes purely for the male's pleasure. (I found that some of my favourite activities became pointless when she couldn't feel anything happening...)

Then there's the issue of breastfeeding if she plans on having children...
  • Like all cosmetic surgery and clothing and any accessory: it's how she wears it. Does it make her feel good? Sexy? Then it will make her look better from the sheer fact her whole manner will change. But like good versus poor fashion sense it comes to you wearing the accessory versus the accessory wearing you [bustybitches.net] (NSFW). Bad fake tits are like an illfitting sports coat or pants that are too short/long: they send a message about you. Tits like that are the Steve Urkel of augmentation (again note Ms Minka
    • I will forever be haunted by the veiny boobs of doom.
      • If you're in a bored mood, google up Polypropylene string breast implants, the implant type that Minka (and Letha Weapons and others) have. See, while most implants are fixed at implantation as to their size in CCs, the string implant actually soaks up fluid and gains more and more mass. That's how they get to that comical size and they need to be drained with some regularity. It's laughable because... well, it sounds like something out of Dig Dug... but then people do this- and that's just shocking. Ah
        • All these years I've misunderstood the meaning of "comical". I thought it had something to do with being funny, not "I just threw up in my mouth."

  • The fake ones don't look right and don't feel right.

Besides, if you want to get your woman larger breasts, get her pregnant.

My wife went from a small C to a D cup, and while she's breastfeeding, she's still a D and looks FANTASTIC.
  • I'll ditto all of the anti-fake comments. I've probably seen really good fakes before without knowing it, but unless your friend runs in the same circles as Hollywood's hottest, she's not likely to get one of those jobs. I've never had the "opportunity" to really play with any fakes, but I've been hugged a couple of times by owners of such, and it felt like having two L'eggs eggs pressed into my chest. Very. Fucking. Unsexy.
  • Memorex, just yuck. My $.02
  • as several others have stated, fake doesn't look good without clothes on.

    • I saw that procedure being done on one of the science/surgery/cant watch this much longer channels. The one question I have abou it is---if her "breast" is touched, does she feel it on her "stomach".
  • As a woman in her mid-forties with small breasts, i would vote for real. I go bra less (on the weekends) and there is very little sag!

When i was younger, it was something that bothered me. Now, i laugh to myself because the women that i envied when i was younger are being negatively affected by gravity. Not me! :-p

    ^_^

  • but then I'm a fan of the smaller ones myself. I don't like anything much bigger than a C.
