kids were fast as lightning, it was a little bit frightening

    How does your belting system work? Where along the range are you?

      intermidiate, 3 stripes on each belt (except black, of course). Having all 3 stripes should mean you are ready to test.
      I've never paid attention to the structure beyond Shodan. Suffice to the day the work thereof and all that.
      I'm about 1.5 belts behind what I'd planned, between guard (duty, mobilization scare, possible mobilization, and getting command), house buying, traveling cross-state to see my son (thankfully behind me
      • Cool. We "earn" our white sashes by having the courage to walk in and join up. It helps install a sense of belonging and pride making it a bit easier on the new student.

        I can see the value in finally earning a place in the school after a lot of hard work. The feeling of achievement after your first test must be awesome.
