Remember that when a Union entrenches itself in a company, you will be notified that you work FOR THE UNION, not the company.
Don't believe it? Ask a railroad employee, or an auto-worker, or a carpenter, etc....... Teachers may be the exception, but that is now short lived.
Now imagine how nice it is when your "dues" go to pay off, uh, I mean support, a political party and endorse a candidate that you do not.... great use of your money, eh?
Card-Check is bad all around.... Imagine having to vote openly with a union rep and your employer in your face with the ballot available to be seen by all.
From the Heritage Foundation:
"The ability to vote in privacy with a secret ballot is a fundamental American right. It is a right that some in Congress now want to take away from American workers.
The Employee Free Choice Act would strip workers of their right to vote on joining a union.
Instead workers would be required to publicly sign a card in front of union organizers, leaving them vulnerable to threats, harassment, and abuse. It would also require companies to go to binding arbitration.
This would lead to massive government wage setting in the economy while taking away newly unionized workers ability to vote to ratify collective bargaining agreements."
Let your politician know if you are against it....
