The FAA's idea, for one notable example. WAAS has ranging GEOs that augment GPS navigation. Japan has the similar MSAS, plus QZSS that's in IGSO with a long linger above Japan to help in urban canyons. Europe has EGNOS, India has GAGAN and NavIC, Korea has KASS. Other countries have systems that are not yet certified for safety-of-life/flight use.

A correct, sound answer to the kind of question posed in TFA's study, for one: logic questions that are outside the training set, but still apply the same rules of logic. Because that kind of behavior was the subject of this research, your follow-on statements are refuted.

National Security Letters are not magic fascism tools. They're subpoenas, so they can compel disclosure of "non-content" information -- but not order Nvidia to take actions like adding things to its products.

And if Nvidia refuses, the government cannot "legally just take them over now". They would need to take Nvidia to court, and those proceedings would bring a huge spotlight to the government's requests.

I didn't say anything about whether I believe that, but thanks for speculating?

A company I work with thought they could rely on that kind of clause (which is available in OpenAI's commercial-use contracts) in a different context, until security and contracts people disabused them of the notion.
