Hospitalizations are also rising. There is always a lag between rising new cases and then rising hospitalizations and death. The hospitalizations are already starting to rise and will most likely increase at a fairly dramatic rate shortly. A few weeks after that the death rate will spike. The good news is the death rate most likely not spike as much as in the past waves, as we've gotten better at treating Covid-19, but they will rise quite a bit.

It is no longer wise for ANY country to enter in to a treaty with the U.S., Previous presidents of ALL PARTIES would honor treaties because it was about others being able to trust the American Word. Now, that is gone. If if a decent president was elected next, I would still recommend countries avoid treaties or "deals" with the U.S., as the next guy might just throw them all out. That has not been the U.S. historical behavior. Trump has destroyed the continuity of the American Republic just to get a few glees from from his base. It will take decades to repair the reputation of the U.S. At this point, I would say the world has moved on without us. We've gone rogue and history teaches us what happens to a country when they do. We think we are too big to have to cooperate with anyone. It never was true, and it certainly isn't true now.

I want to eat meat. I will never become a vegan, because I need meat (my levels of B12 and iron constantly falling if I don't eat enough meat, and I rather get it from real food rather than vitamin pills). Find a way to make it sustainable then. It's not a solution to telling everyone to "stop eating meat". I rather have free range or wild, sustainable, organic meat, than industrialized meat. But to not have any at all, is not an option.

Actually (said with a lot of spit in your month), I use Links 2 a lot. I have a hobby of vintage computers. I use Links on DOS, Links when I'm connecting via serial console to a Raspberry Pi (good for CP/M machines, DOS palmtop, others such as Amstrad NC200). If you have the capability, you can use Links2 - g and get the cool graphics all the young kinds are talking about. I still prefer even on a fast machine using straight text mode. I keep bookmarks of Text-Friendly news and tech sites - lite.cnn.io, lobste.rs, etc. Surfing the web is orders of magnitude faster, and the content I want is front and center.

I use them to connect my collection of oldie computers to the outside world. My CP/M laptops, DOS Palmtops, NC-200, Z88, etc, etc all get a serial connection for browsing the web with Links 2, downloading files, etc. On the Epson PX-4/8's, I use the VFloppy project to provide 4 floppy drives to the device. The funny thing is that surfing the Web with Links over a serial connection is far faster than surfing the web on my Modern Computers. Of course I miss out on dancing icons the fart fairy dust on the page, but I'm OK with that.

Having worked 17 years in the medical field, this is a major DUH! SO much of what was done was obviously ineffective, if not slightly to moderately hazardous. Medicine has been operating for quite a long time as an ART. Applying science to the field could be quite a budget buster.
