Comment Re:Business Model? (Score 1) 93

I totally agree! A business model (also called a business design) is the mechanism by which a business intends to generate revenue and profits. It is a summary of how a company plans to serve its customers. It involves both strategy and implementation. Having started a successful software development company (now 6 years old), I have always kept my eyes open for new ideas and was very excited when I saw this article on Open Source Business Models, as I am yet to find it. Surely there must be people out there who actually implements some sort of an Open Source Business Model that also implements sound business principles - Profit being the main objective for one. I think this discussion will be much more productive if we can get input from people was has practical experience in implementing a successful Open Source Business Model.
