What's wrong with ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H once in a while. They ARE working remotely.

When I DID finally see the movie, I don't remember what I thought of it, so it must not have been that impactful. That is, I suspect it didn't hold up over time beyond some simple entertainment. I was probably happy to just check it off of my movie list.

Then again, I see that a favorite show of mine, (the first few years of) "The Simpsons", has an episode about to re-run which heavily references that movie--I'm glad to have better-understood the comedy in it.

Think about it, from all of the "you should-ers", kids' skills are becoming "obsolete" before they even leave school.

Our corner house came with decorative boulders and a shallow drainage ditch. Multiple cars were stopped by them. Without, the cars could have reached the house where we were sleeping.

Forgive me, "famous". I was born when the movie came out, only seeing much later. I took it as conceptually facing a weighty adulthood decision where one can choose a stable, profitable, comfortable life path, but a path that is also boring and perhaps even soul-sucking.

Funnily, I face this daily: I'm able to make good money in various technical jobs, but I don't... Instead, I chose a path where I like the people, the company, the goals, the short commute and the technical/non-technical freedoms. But I cringe a little when I see what everyone else claims to earn (backed by the employment ads I see).

I tell ya' what, give every in the country a dollar instead. Better still, request a dollar from everyone...if you get it, you can move it.

It just dawned on me that that famous line in "The Graduate" may have an entirely different, ominous meaning in the future.

Oh that's right, it's PBS...hahah, I guess there wouldn't be commercials!

I have seen a couple of them on TV. The 1-hour shows have been interesting, but unfortunately a bit slow with the "information", having frequent emphatic pauses and music... If this were on YouTube or something, I'd try to speed it up.

I see your link points to the episodes on-line, along with a speed-controllable video player. That would be better, but I don't know whether they force commercials there.

Maybe we should have let the Chinese waste their resources trying to understand and influence our teenagers.

I don't know; out of curiosity I asked the HR manager about this once and she said they only checked driver's licenses (whatever that means). And in our state, anyone is allowed to get driver's license.

"Never ascribe to malice, something, something..." Since this site is getting closer and closer to autopilot (no new accounts(?), some have lost the ability to receive mod points [including me until I complained]), it wouldn't surprise me if there were internal flaws rather than bot farms.

H1-B is for when a company can't find an American worker, not to cut Americans' salaries. Why would Americans vote for such a law?
