If memory serves, a researcher contracted the 1918 flu and died. We are lucky this wasn't a Wuhan-like event.

For a long time I thought NASA was the only part of the Federal government that worked. And then NASA killed seven astronauts.

I no longer believe NASA is the only part of the Federal government that works.

Chrome sucks eggs in managing my bookmarks.

I've managed my own bookmarks for years by putting them (often with comments) into a file using vi. This completely isolates my bookmarks from the vagaries of browsers and lets me find bookmarked items very quickly with grep and other tools. My bookmark file currently has 11,005 links.

My 1994 Taurus began running erratically one day. Turns out the speed pick-off in the transmission used a gear that was part metal, part nylon and the nylon was worn to the point of not meshing. A year later the same part was worn to the point of being inop. The replacement was mostly nylon.

Ford learned how to make stuff cheaper but to fail more often. I learned never to buy another Ford under any circumstances!

Did they really say the Y2038 problem will occur at Pi AM, 3:14 in the morning? I assume they mean in UTC so it won't be in my timezone but still.

With Linux if you pass 2,147,483,647 to localtime() and convert the result to UTC, you get Tuesday, January 19, 2038, 03:14:07.

Keep pushing for open borders, $50 trillion health care plans, $90 trillion green new deals, rampant socialism, other ridiculous, dangerous, and unobtainable goals. Keep forgetting about the forgotten man and woman. You will guarantee the reelection of Donald Trump.

The bigger question is why should we consider voting for a guy who never held a full time job until he was 41, whose honeymoon destination was Russia, and who is now a multi-millionaire?
