It needs to be put down like a rabid dog and THEN we can evaluate what our options are after that.

Is there some reason we can't see what our options are before we kill it so we have a superior plan ready to vote on in congress? I keep hearing repeal and replace but until I hear a real plan for "replace" I am really only hearing "repeal".

Working in the health insurance arena I can say that almost all medical insurance carriers use SSN to identify their members. Occationally an employer will want to use something else and either the carrier refuses to support it or it is like we are asking them to murder their children to make it happen.

DRM Chair Self-Destructs After 8 Uses 215

unts writes "Taking DRM further than it's gone before, a group of designers have built a DRM'd chair that will melt its own joints and destroy itself after 8 uses. The chair uses an Arduino and sensors to monitor the number of uses, then triggers the melting of a set of joints that hold it together, making the product unusable without some carpentry skills. The video of device at work is both amusing and a little disconcerting."

Injured Bald Eagle Gets New 3-D Printed Beak 103

An anonymous reader writes "A bald eagle that lost its beak to a poacher's gun receives a 3-D printed beak prosthetic like a dental implant." More (with pictures): "Mr Calvin, a founder of the Boise-based Kinetic Engineering Group, made a mold of Beauty's shattered upper mandible, laser-scanned it, fine-tuned it in a 3D modeling program, and created a prosthetic beak from a nylon-based polymer."
