...Intel fired it's previous CEO that was an engineer and was working on long term engineering problems to fix the long term health of the company because they realized that long term doesn't mean 3 weeks or even 3 years, but that it could mean a decade to make the in-depth changes needed to keep Intel alive.

Instead they replaced the engineer with a business person who's first thought on solving Intel's huge technical problems is to divert the companies attention and focus from solving it's technical issues to working on a lengthy and in-depth rebrand?

This is insane.

There should be intelligence tests done before people are allowed autonomy, let alone the ability to make decisions that affect others.

I haven't checked yet, but I'll bet Intel's shares are up on this idiotic news.

I'm starting to think a lot of the people in the AI space are bozos and don't really understand how these ML models work.

You're entitled to your ignorant and incorrect opinion. The fact of the matter is, while he was alive, I as an employee was given a lot of latitude to make sure our customers were happy, and after he died the first thing that changed was that latitude was taken away, and we were required to maximize profits at the expense of customer satisfaction, which was something we were never required to do previously.

If you view that as simping, you might be suffering from brain rot.

I also find it funny that someone who is clearly not the caliber person to get a job at a company like Apple, is making statements about things they know nothing about.

While Steve Jobs was alive, he insisted that customer focus and customer experience be first and foremost on everyone's minds. After he died, the focus was shifted, by Tim Cook, to be profits first.

I don't think you understand. The GDP of the US is 50% greater than the GDP of the EU.

You could combine the GDP of China and India together and still not be able to compare to the US.

The US could totally throw their weight around and heavily influence the EU if they wanted to. They could make things MISERABLE for the EU if they wanted to.

I believe it not because I think Trump is credible, but rather because I think Tim Cook is a two timing snake who would totally appeal to Trump behind closed doors, while touting progressivism and liberalism publicly.

I worked at Apple while Steve Jobs was alive, and it was a very principled company. Steve Jobs' body wasn't even cold in the ground yet when Tim Cook started replacing all the principals with process that focused on making money and shareholder value. Steve Jobs picked the wrong person and as a result many good people left Apple, almost immediately after Steve's death. I left too. It just wasn't the company I signed up for anymore.

Yes I've done it but it's not going to fix your phone if water gets in somewhere it's not supposed to.

Not sure why.
