I was speaking to studies regarding masks, maybe you are having trouble staying on topic. For a mask effectiveness study, your comparative control groups and subject groups need to be similar, not different. That's basic science 101.

You are all over the place with talk about vaccinations and politics and name calling, So there is clearly no sense in any discussion regarding mask effectiveness testing. I am not 'for' or "against' masks. I am talking about the studies on masks. If you think the studies done on mask effectiveness were good enough, so be it. Just say that and move on.

The benefits of wearing the types of masks available to the public is still unknown as the scientist never really went through the trouble of creating proper studies with proper control groups. Mostly what we saw were meta data studies which by nature are almost always inherently flawed.

One could even argue that 'message' that masks made things safe emboldened people to go out into crowded areas more because 'they wore a mask'. I've seen families of 4 wearing masks walking through the grocery store. If things are so bad you need a mask, then only one person needs to go get the groceries.

That would be a good idea... only that such "substandard housing" is against code where I live.

And that destructiveness can easily be dealt with. You get a free home, if you trash it, you're back out on the street. You had a chance and blew it. Be gone.

And I mean from my city.

I'm pretty confident that this can be worked out. Especially if you tell the people who actually DO want a new home and who DO want to keep it that such behaviour will reflect poorly on all of them. Depending on how this pans out, you'd be happy to get out alive if you start spraying graffiti on the walls...

And what percentage of city street homeless do you imagine are capable of keeping a home properly?

I think a lot of people that started remote work also got in the habit of making their own lunch. Even if they return to the office a couple days a week, they are less likely to go out and support local restaurants. And those cities that kept raising 'service taxes' on local restaurants and hotels are getting a double whammy hit wrt tax income. So they are going to desperate and that probably means do something (else) stupid.
