Genuine progress is being made in developing useful AI tools
Also, a lot of really silly uses are being found
Hypemongers, pundits and other assorted weasels make exaggerated claims that AI will allow companies to replace all of their workers
Investment flows abundantly
Executives believe salesweasels and buy expensive, immature products
The promised results fail to materialize
Meanwhile, expert workers find real uses for the tech on their own
I watch the show with amusement

For some, college is a valuable tool for training the mind. These people love learning and work hard to learn as much as they can
For others, college is a useless hurdle they need to jump over in order to get a diploma which they believe will be a key to a good job. These people put in minimal effort. slouching through college socializing, binge drinking and cheating on exams.
Unfortunately, these dumfuks often end up in positions of power and work to make college even easier for others like them

Using AI to help with technical or scientific projects is good
Using AI for almost everything is good
Using AI to have a "romantic" relationship is bad, really, really bad
And yeah, as long as I can remember, people have used tech to do stupid stuff

Good people use it for good, evil people use it for evil
Smart people use it to increase knowledge, stupid people use it for stupid fads
I see great potential for AI in science, engineering, medicine, etc
Unfortunately, the moroons will misuse it spectacularly
