Dude, these have a 54% capacity factor. That craps all over land based ones. They can afford to pay for some maintenance. That means on average these turbines were producing 2.7 MW for 5 years. That's freaking huge compared to most land based units. Each of these turbines has made roughly 140 GWH, or something like $14M each in 5 years. That's a likely to be a pretty decent RoI. If they can refurb these things a few times then they're likely doing pretty well. The capital cost seem a bit high on these units, but that's likely to be a first mover issue.

Pull your head out. It's the cities fault for now allowing enough housing to be built as industries develop, causing a bidding war. Vancouver is already much more expensive than Seattle or Portland, despite lower median salaries. Our pitfall is allowing too much overseas and illicit capital to flood in, without forcing that same capital to do anything useful other than support the housing market. Real well paying jobs would be a boon here.

Most of the time I take the bus to and from University (UBC). On the rare sunny day in Vancouver I take my electric skateboard. Door to door times for the bus are ~25 minutes with the bus, and ~15 by electric skateboard. In good weather it honestly is the best way to get around. And for some reason there's always chicks at my destination.
