Not only see all the transactions (this already happens on public blockchains) but reverse the bank could also change those transactions, or make some on your behalf. Also they could restrict anyone else from seeing those transactions but themselves. This explains why China is all about CBDCs and pushing forward with their own. There are already digital dollars out there, stable coins. They are (supposedly) backed up by real dollars. Why isn't the USA using these? My guess is it's in large part because they want the control a CBDC would give them. So yeah, stupid for everyone except the issuer of the CBDC.

The Ethereum upgrade should be happening in the next year (unless it gets postponed again, and if so no one will be surprised). Part of the upgrade will basically end all Ethereum mining with GPUs. With Ethereum being the most profitable GPU mined crypo currency, as well as the most common, it stands to reason that the demand for GPUs will drop significantly. In fact it seems as if this is already beginning to happen. And while there are cryptos one can mine with video cards, none are as profitable as Ethereum. Also, with the price of all cyrpto crashing has taken a toll on mining profitability, reducing GPU demand.

Comment When does Windows 12 come out? (Score 1) 210

Generally speaking Microsoft has a record of trying to improve windows and fails. They'll hit upon a fairly solid version and have nothing more to improve upon except the user interface.
Again generally speaking:
Windows 3.1 good.
Windows 95 not so good
Windows 98 good
Windows ME not so good
Windows XP good
Windows Vista not so good
Windows 7 good
Windows 8 not so good
Windows 10 good
Windows 11 (even though feels like it's in extended beta testing, it's looking not so good)

If history repeats itself, Windows 12 will be something people like to use (or at least tolerate).
