Because "low prices" and "small government" and "low taxation" have been conservative principles my entire life. You can include a "competitive global market" and "free trade" too. "can't stand the thought of a factory being built" this is silly, there's Amazon warehouses going up all across the country. Wouldn't make a difference if those were factories making the same junk.

We're not going to stop having lights inside and outside our homes. All my exterior lights were Hue, the metal casing and glass were all good quality and I had no issues with the product. "High prices oppose conspicuous consumption. Tariff revenue funds government." You'd think the right would oppose artifically raising prices to fund the government.

Democratic donors just don't fund the culture wars the same way Republicans do. I don't know why we don't have Democratic youtubers that go into deep red states showcasing broken down trailer parks and crackheads and just repeat 24/7 about how conservative policies have failed these people. Yet for the same reason, Republicans all over the country think the world's 4th or 5th economy is a communist hell hole.

Comment Re:Costs (Score 1) 213

No I'm not because you pay for housing regardless if you attend college or not. Why does it suddenly become a college related cost? For state schools that require dorming, remove that policy. But you can currently get around it by transfering in from junior college. Text cost are negligible for most majors, and what equipment; car, computer, clothes? Because you don't own those if you don't go to college? Mabye the bigger problem is the American culture where kids are expected to vacate at 18?

Comment Costs (Score 1) 213

For various reason the cost figures are greatly exaggerated. To some degree people just don't want to go to college and are happy to cite exaggerated numbers, or they're gullible to what anti-college influencers are saying. An undergrad in California can still be done for under 40k, I talk to people who think they need to save $150,000+ plus for their kids education.
