I seem to be in a small minority on this issue
Skipping the mod points to specifically agree. The time switch has always been a minor thing to me. It's effectively crossing *one* time zone. In fact the PDT to PST switch coming gives an extra hour. It was never a problem with the kids. The pets required an extra few days to the accustomed feeding schedules.
Also, why is it called "permanent daylight saving (no 's') time"? If we did go the daylight route why not just say California is on Mountain Time, same as Arizona who sticks with standard time. If we did go to a single time zone, standard has already been tested to work in a couple of states and D has failed in this article and in the US decades ago.
As far as the lost evenings, why? What are you doing that insists on having daylight? True for golf. Pickleball, swimming, running? Outdoor lighting works just fine.
