That wouldn't make any sense because that would mean that you couldn't use standard bitmap images as a wallpaper without "converting" them first to include this special embedded code. And there would be no benefit whatsoever in having it set up this way, except to malware writers. Clearly, they meant that the "message" was created and sent after the wallpaper loading routine had finished doing it's work and exited.

Somehow I doubt the people running social media is losing sleep over all of this. They bound and gagged their annoying Jiminy Cricket, put him in an iron mask, and locked him in the deepest level of the dungeon, and had the cell door welded shut . This is SOP in America. Trample on as many people as you can, kick them off the ladder as you go up, and pull that ladder up behind you. And you will be rich and very well respected, and you will have an almost endless horde of people who will bow and respect you, and do everything you command them too. Including escape the consequences of felony charges and not allow those charges to get in the way of your glory. That's how it is in the US of A. Also, Jesus loves you.

Back in the mid 1980s, my SKOOL tried to dismiss us *INTO* a violent thunderstorm that suddenly blew up at the end of the school day. I will never forget how fast the distant clouds rushed into the area, like some timelapse, and that horrific screeching sound it made coming in. I've never seen anything like it before or since then. I was one of the walk home students and I refused to go out into that dangerous storm. When my mom finally arrived in the family car and picked me up, we went down a road and had to suddenly stop and turn around because a huge, thick tree was lying across the road from sidewalk to sidewalk. I could've easily have been under that tree. I suspect the movement of the clouds, the screech, and the tree was caused by a tornado, but living in southeastern Pennsylvania at the time, we didn't have tornado sirens or a real tornado detection system set up. I'm still mad that my school was so reckless, just because the staff wanted to get home ASAP.

The TFA mentions "barrage" which to me means "more than 2 pop ups". It's still light on details and I don't know if "barrage" is being used subjectively. Maybe 2 popups are a "barrage" to some people. And are they being nagged only when the install the app, or are they being nagged every time they open or switch to those 3rd party apps? I want to know if this is a big deal over nothing.

AI gives me this eerie feeling of death. Not Terminators going machine guns blazing, but a quiet death, where human intellect gets pushed out and replaced with artificial nonsense. Imagine people in the future as an adult barely able to speak at the level of a 4 year old, highly dependent on AI that's can't actually evolve and can just barely hold it's own, as the world stagnates and goes into irreversible decay. I don't know how realistic this vision is, but that's how I see it and it's so damn depressing. I think I am preferring the Terminators, and people going out in a blaze of glory with their minds and humanity intact over a very slow death as perpetual toddlers.
