The job of the Enshittificator is to take things that are perctly fine... and make them shitty.

Instead of banning algorithms that slowly erode our social structure, by exploiting every mechanism our species has learned to function, to generate more clicks, we try (in vain) to "protect the children". Let's face it, we lost control over big tech long ago, and the profit generating machine must feast until the last humman on earth starves alone on his big, big pile of money. Until only paperclips are left from the whole universe...

Yeah, well, the U.S. are led by a bunch of criminals for quite a long time right now. "The System" seems to be unable to deal with that situation. If the midterms don't bring even a smidge of change, I assume it'd be best to leave the country before it turns into a second North Korea...

I'm pretty sure that, at this point, the robots are remote controlled. The operator has to "aim" the robot and then set off an attack sequence. Over time, operators will get better, key aspects will be automated by AI until these things can fight autonomously. And that's a BIT alarming :)

That's insane!

The who ad industry is a big house of cards, built on lies and statistics. It's a circlejerk of one MBA gobbling down the lies of another. But in the end, there seems to be money piling up somewhere. So, nothing will ever change.

If we're lucky, the ad industry will drift completely into the virtual world, were AI bots serving ads that other AI bots klick and consume, so humans don't have to be part of the game anymore.

I'd really be interested in how many "interactions" with ads are real humans conciously clicking or reading the bs, let alone "triggering a purchase decision".

I can't remember the last crash I had. Barely none since Win7.. Even on a "throwaway" installation for things that require the shadiest of drivers...
The only "crashes" that I have nowadays are Thinkpads going:

And after Powering on again:

"Huh? what do you mean I shut down? Battery seems mighty fine! I believe you're imagining things..."

My work Laptop, which is nothing more than a Thinclient with Teams (everything else has to be done on various remote machines, because security!!!), takes well over five minutes to be usable... And then it's "idling" at approx. 20% CPU, presumably because of all the security tools fighting each other who the mostestest securest is... It's ridiculous...

The Trump administration and the Epstein files clearly show that we are totally corrupted as a species. A few people, shoveling money on big heaps are driving us into the abyss, and nothing can be done about it. Maybe you can't even blame them. They simply are not capable of imaginig a world where things are different as they imagine them to be. Like 2D beings, living in a 3D world...
