Journal M.C. Hampster's Journal: Survivor All-Stars: Episode 9 Preview 7

The long awaited Survivor posting is finally here. And no, it's not an April Fool's Joke.

It's been two long weeks since we've had a new episode of Survivor, so my memory is a bit shakey. I'm even having a hard time remembering who was voted out. If my memory serves right, Ethan was the last voted out over at Mogo Mogo. This comes after the Colby vote from the week before. So, we are, in fact, down to 10 players. This is traditionally when a merge occurs.

However, from the previews, and from this blurb at Yahoo! TV, I'm guessing it isn't going to occur tonight. It looks instead that we may have some more tribal mixing, possibly due to the fact that Mogo Mogo is now down 2 players. So this "twist" is going to make picking out the boot much more difficult.

So this week, rather than wasting brain power trying to figure the whole thing out, I'm just gonna go with a gut guess and say Jerri is out this week. Why? Because we like you. I mean, because everyone hates her.

  • Lex, Jerri, and Shii Ann. They were smart in going after Ethan and Colby, since those two were the strongest.

Problem is: without the strongest members, you lose immunities and you end up going to council more. This is usually why such moves aren't made until merge.

Of course if there isn't a merge then those three are DOA anyway.
    • Wait, what happened to Kathy? She was on this team too even though she spent almost an entire episode with the other team. I didn't watch the recap last week and it has been too long since a new episode to remember.

    • I was thinking that for "the biggest twist ever" (billed at the beginning of the season) the producers might not implement a merge. It would really throw the players for a loop.

Well... the next season's players wouldn't know which way is up. This season, Mogo-mogo would just be up the creek without any strong paddlers.

I also remember seeing Amber in a green buff, so something happens where she moves from Chapera to Mogo-mogo.

  • at figuring out who will go- but my guess is that Lex has been too smart for his own good and the merge wont happen - and the girls will give him the boot. His whole strategy has been eliminating every strong person from his own tribe - keeping himself alive not by avoiding tribal council but by killing them off.

The thing is if it works just as he plans- when there is some sort of merge- he'll still be easy pickings for the members of the larger tribe. Unless he can pull off individual immunity at key j
  • I'm glad I didn't read *before* the show. You're very, very good. TOO good.

But I do think that getting rid of Jerri is an idiotic strategic move. Brilliant for morale, but horrible for strategy. The first thing they need to do when things shift to individual mode is vote off Rob, or at least they need to at the first opportunity, 'cause the guy is a powerhouse for challenges. Makes you wonder if his own Chapera teammates will be willing to vote him off, knowing this.

So, anyway, I think Lex's strategy is
