I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. I understand their distaste with him being arrested while trying to attend a film festival, and I also understand the issue of the Swiss getting involved. However, the bottom line is that he plead guilty to a crime and then fled the country. I don't give a fuck who you are; if you flee before sentencing the feds will (and should) arrest you given the opportunity. Really the only question is whether or not everything was done by the book; if not, he should be let go. Aside from that, fame doesn't (or at least shouldn't) buy you a pass.

It's a lot more complicated than that. Though I can see the irony in "neutral" Switzerland collaborating with Nazis and infamous drug cartels, while enforcing another country's law that was broken 30 years ago. Clearly, if they were more interested in perusing war crimes I would have more sympathy for their fanaticism.
