According to them they manage now 3.4 Billion USD. That puts them pretty much near the top of that list.

You also have to realize, that we have only a population of 8.5 Million people. This bank we couldn't save, should it fail, tearing down the entire economy with it.

Plus trust is nearly 0 in UBS after the 2008 fiasco.

You are right, that forest fires are a natural occurrence.

The problem today is scale and human interference.
Around 1900 there where 1 Billion humans. Today there are 7.5. These want to eat, and that is why a lot of fires are man made. Look at south east asia, they have smog every year due to burning rain forest.
The second problem is climate change. I can tell you first hand (i fly gliders, i'm a weather junky) that the weather has changed. Not necessarily the amounts of rain / dryness but the cadence. The whole process has sped up considerably, leading to a lot higher occurrences of storms and therefore lighting.
So what used to be a once in 10 year event, is now occurring yearly.

Besides try to uninstall the a random google app. If its in the system part of the phone you do not have a chance, unless you root the phone, which is 0.0001% of the users. This was the same problem with Microsoft and Internet Explorer. Google wouldn't exists without that previous decision.

Facial recognition isn't going to stop a person with a gun in a school. Its a non-solution to the actual problem, that has both a high price in $$$$ and both morally, and ethically.

If you teach the kids that they are so dangerous that they need to be watched 24/7, you might just produce another school shooter.

We need to have some introspection, why and how we create environments for our kids that exert so much pressure that they are willing to kill themselves and other people.

I understand that people are hurt and shocked and demand a quick fix. But one has to realize that there isn't an easy solution to this problem. That it will take a lot of work, and that the process will be painful.

I have never understood why one tries to do the car first. - its the most complex environment as there is anything from a cat to bike or other car that can suddenly get into your way. There is no fixed track, there are other participants that don't always obey the rules. Traction may vary etc. - personal cars are a margin business. Expensive sensors, computing units etc are a much larger percentage than in a truck, train, plane or ship. Its just uneconomical.

thought i made a spelling mistake, but at least Wikipedia agrees with me. Winter does bad things to aircraft. ;-) ice accumulates at the leading edge of wings and props, until the profile is no longer generating lift. That is why most aircraft have heating in the wings leading edge and mechanical deformation to break of the ice.
