Every article is about how AI will do bad things. The hype machine lives on this - selling clicks. Just one person who worked at these companies could charge for an interview and make bank because sensationalism sells. Not to mention each time an AI company got free press when an agent goes "rogue" because it's so good,⦠and finding out later the free press boosted sales.

Comment How About Political Texts?? (Score 2) 25

I am getting far more political texts now than ever before. And these politicians carved an exemption for themselves in the telecommunications spam laws. It's time for that to end, but you will find that suddenly the parties are unified on not helping the citizens. Democrats, socialists, republicans, etc. all want to bomb your inbox like it's 1945, especially before elections, and will band together to keep the text train rolling.

My only question is the libertarians - would they stand up and say enough is enough?

Comment What is a "harmful response?" (Score 4, Insightful) 59

What is a "harmful response" and since when is having the sum total of human knowledge being instantly searchable "harmful?" All of this information is already freely available on the internet and in libraries. We used to say that "information wants to be free" but now that we have a tool that can do just that, we have a society that is intent on locking everything down with "governance" and "guardrails." And the best part? China is out here making and releasing the same type of advanced AIs sans guardrails for all to download. Now what?
