In the US they tend to attract the people who are too left for the Democrats, or occasionally protest votes from Democrats who can't stomach their own candidates. It is true on some issues they might be viewed as conservative, shift towards more decentralized government for instance, but on others...well they support the "decentralization of wealth" (communism) just as much as they support the decentralization of government, mixed with extreme environmentalism. We just keep the old topics around so it's still possible to find old stories related to them. Sometimes (like now!) they even still come in handy.
