Journal KshGoddess's Journal: 6 More Days of this crap. 16

Is it just me or is the political crap getting to anyone else? I'm tired of the childish "He said I was fat" "She said I spend too much money" "He said I kill babies in bathtubs" (sorry, was listening to Bob & Tom this morning)... I'm just sick and tired of this crap.

I will be glad when SOMEONE is elected, so this will be over, and we can get back to commercials of animated evil chinchillas and pop stars drinking soda.

Must.. resist.. urge.. to 30-second-skip real life...

  • animated evil chinchillas drinking soda?
  • ...is that it will continue to go on and on even after the election. Can't make everybody happy, and there are plenty of lawyers. We'll probably see a re-enactment of the 2000 Gore fiasco with slightly different cast members.
    • Actually the thought is it is going to be Florida ten times over.

In theory we might even see the House throw out an electoral college landslide. And then the real fun begins.

      • Yeah, that's the only thing I'm afraid of, that this will go on and on and on and on.... :(

And will happen again in 4 years.

I do have a 'favorite' candidate, but I'm not threatening to leave the US (ahem, asshats who did this last time) if he doesn't win.

When did we become such children?

When did it become ok to be the country where "he looked at me first"?
        • I don't know, but I don't like it either.

Sadly, the only way I know how we can fix it is to get someone not affiliated with the two major parties into office who has more of what our early forefathers had.

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon because the majority of the populace doesn't care enough to investigate ALL the candidates on their own; they just rely on what the TV "news" spoonfeeds them.
  • But I won't be glad (about politics) until my candidate is president.
  • My journal will remain mostly (direct/partisan) politics-free for at least another 5-6 days.
  • I think Douglas Adams understood things a little too well.

"Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

"There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers just exactly what the universe is for and why we are here, that it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. Then there is a theory which states that this has already happened."

I'm just hoping someone hurries up and figures this one out,

I'm a Lisp variable -- bind me!

Working...
