Journal KshGoddess's Journal: Music: Jason Mraz: Waiting for my Rocket to Come 6
My amazon package came the other day that had this CD in it... the over-underplayed song (I'm sure it's overplayed when we hear it three times in a week on the drive home, but it's underplayed in that we don't hear it enough to be sick of it) "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" is, of course, catchy and up-beat. Although I prefer "Curbside Prophet"
I'm a curbside prophet
with my hand in my pocket
and I'm waiting for my rocket to come
I'm a curbside prophet
with my hand in my pocket
and I'm waiting for my rocket, y'all.
and "Too Much Food" (Any song talking about hanging out with ketchup and salt is strange enough for me.
I have forced it upon AV, who is being much less annoying today (probably due to his gelatin-free European Skittles), and he basically shrugged at me and said "You have a very interesting taste in music. What in the hell do you call that?" Bluegrass-hiphop? I dunno. What do you call a song that has banjos in it and a white guy rapping? I have no idea.
I just think it's a sweet CD. Rather listenable. Kinda low-key, kinda weird. Overall, it's a 7/10.

It's in the title of the JE, but I figured I'd reiterate. ;)

That's ok; I had an off-July. August seems to be better, so far. ;) I heard (correctly) that he'll be at Del Mar (at the Fairgrounds/Racetrack) this month... 8/9. Kew. :)

Hrm. Beck is kinda close to it. But not. There's more melody to these songs. Beck is like banjos remixed into a rap. This is more like a song playing as an appropriate background to the rap.
