Using some old but great enterprise PCIe SSDs (with backup power capacitors) for the main storage, older Xeon powered workstation with ECC memory, and ZFS of course; running Alma Linux. Not just backup or storage, but runs VMs, media server, and a few other things. Rock solid, inexpensive, and just works.
