its good that your wife could. The pill is great for some women, who use it even if they don't need the BC effects. It sucks for others. For women going off the pill and planning to get pregnant, there's a "refresh" period where your body restocks on some nutrients that are importnat for pregnancy but aren't metabolized well while on the pill. My sister used natural fertility awareness (same thing, differnet book probably) with condoms at the 'bad' times and successfuly avoided pregnancy for the time needed to refresh and be ready to switch the timing and start working on getting pregnant.
