A new study has found that people are more likely to act kind towards others when Batman is present â" and not for the reasons you might assume.

Psychologists from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Italy conducted experiments on the Milan metro to see who, if anyone, might offer their seat to a pregnant passenger.
The kicker? Sometimes Batman was there â" or at least, another experimenter dressed as him. The researchers were checking if people were more likely to give up their seat in the presence of the caped crusader.
And sure enough, there did seem to be a correlation. In 138 different experiments, somebody offered their seat to an experimenter wearing a hidden prosthetic belly 67.21 percent of the time in the presence of Batman.
That's a lot more often than times the superhero wasn't around â" in those cases, a passenger offered a seat just 37.66 percent of the time.

"Interestingly, among those who left their spot in the experimental condition, nobody directly associated their gesture with the presence of Batman, and 14 (43.75 percent) reported that they did not see Batman at all."
The article goes on to speculate about what is causing people to be more generous.
No, their 'end objective' here is to not have to pay Broadcom for a chip that Apple can make itself, while also having more control over what the chip does and doesn't do.
Same reason they started making their own CPUs rather than using PowerPC or Intel.

*Controlled* chain reactions, on the other hand.....
I learned how to type, in the early 90s, on a typewriter, by watching the Alemdia method tape one single time. And I still remember the jingle.
But I *perfected* my typing on Sierra On-Line games and the like.
and peppered the public with constant lies.
That skill proved useful in his later career.
Me: you know, many businesses already change between summer and winter schedules; many retail stores, many services, many public transit operators.....
how the hell could they make the "just one administrator" mistake?
It's not a mistake, because it's not a 'permissions/who can be administrator' 'mistake.' It's the account owner. It's the person who's credit card is on file.
Why would Apple 'comply with a court order' that has nothing to do with them?
If the court ordered the father to disband the account, and he didn't disband the account, he needs to be taken back to court to force compliance.
That being said, the article DID make clear that there WAS a court order for him to disband the account, and even if he was using in all the right ways for all the right reasons, not-complying with a court order is extremely problematic.
Then her remedy is to go back to court and compel the target of the order, aka the ex-husband, to do as ordered, not to claim that a third party with no standing in the case is at fault.
If you and I contract that I will sell you may Ford Escape for five grand, and you give me five grand and I don't give you the keys, you don't go to Ford and ask them to make you a key. They will, correctly, say "....and what does this have to do with us?" when you wave the sale contract at them.
