Journal Joff_NZ's Journal: Xmas events Pt I 1
Righto.. Christmas things.. well, right now its the 26th, and we're heading off to see The Two Towers in around an hour.. but lets start nearer the beginning..
Well.. We had Lemmy booked into a cattery down in Waimate, which meant he had to endure the 2.5hr car ride down here.. he freaked out for a bit.. . then we realised he wasn't getting enough air, so we rolled down the windows, and he was fine.. went to sleep with Daisy after a little while..
The real fun began when we got to the cattery. I got lemmy in my arms.. and there's this dog there. This freaked out lemmy somewhat.. but the real trouble started when we got him about 5 meters from the door of the cattery. He leapt out of my arms and ran off into the bush. The country-side bush. Lemmy has only ever run around our urban/suburban area and I'm sure was quite unprepared for the hazards of an ostritch farm.
Well, there was no catching him.. he was just way too fast. So after some calling, we just went back to Daisy's parents place.
Later that night, we got a call from the cattery people (who were very very nice) saying they'd heard lemmy calling out from somewhere in the bush but they couldn't get him to come out.. so we went down there...
Well, we called out.. and 30 seconds later, Lemmy shows up... now, its like 11pm at this point, and totally dark, so we have torches etc etc..
Daisy manages to grab him, but I think the torches freaked him out, and he became a twisting ball of claws and teeth, managing to scratch up daisy pretty good, and biting into the hand of the guy pretty deeply, and thus he was lost to the bush again.
SO after much calling, and searching and looking around, he shows up again, but this time he has me following him around the place, not letting me close enough to pick him up... he seemed to have settled down, and I think he secretly was having the time of his life... after about an hour of this, we gave up and went back to Daisy's parent's house.....
to be contd...
...cat has got my tongue (Score:1)
