I don't use whatsapp anyway, but I really just got sick of the fact that chat wasn't all end to end, and that they required identifying information, and that they lacked configuration that I remembered having on ICQ clients.

Then I found element.io on the matrix.org network. No identification, end to end encryption, distributed network, ability to set different notifications per chat (a big plus for me to know if I need to look at my phone/application right away), etc.

For a long time I've had this idea about how funny it would be if I wrote a bot that had a dead man's switch that would activate and post to social media upon my demise, but I refrain because I feel like it would be cruel to those closest to me.

Not really a chat bot, but a bot that just posts "I'm dead" jokes, like "It's really dark in here. Anyone know where I am?", "Hey. What happened? I was just about to post some dirt on the Clintons.", "Which one of you assholes just pissed on my grave?", "Pro tip: Do NOT fart in a coffin!", etc.

I'm not a heavy phone user. So I don't stress my battery out by discharging it every few hours and recharging it fully. I always set mine to charge as slow as possible, usually only charge to about 70%, and let it run down to 10-20% over a day or two.

When you start (and have a ton of stuff) going somewhere to use the big machines is probably your best bet. The Toshibas I work on scan at 80PPM. If they are well maintained and your paper isn't all tattered and folded they rarely double feed. Make sure you fan your paper out before putting it in the doc feeder.

Then you can use a smaller home machine for your upkeep.
