I too was an avid trackball user until the G5. Granted I do use keyboard commands quite often.
But for gaming this mouse simply cannot be beat.
The perversity of nature is nowhere better demonstrated by the fact that, when exposed to the same atmosphere, bread becomes hard while crackers become soft.
