The gift isn't completely free. Many people object to the costs imposed on them by the GPL. It prevents actions they want to take from being legal.
Fixing a typo in the above post:
wasn't proven, and now appears to be false.
That thing about "peeking on the chats of Mathematician" wasn't proven, and not appears to be false. They *could* have done that, but the proof they supplied used a slightly different method, so they probably didn't.
You comment would make picket lines illegal. This is something that I've heard claimed before, but I don't believe it's true.
OTOH, I agree that this appears to be useless grandstanding...though I suppose one could argue that it's utility is attracting public notice to the perceived problem.
You are assuming that the people requesting the delivery are capable of walking that distance. Most probably are, but as the population ages a significant number aren't. Depending on what you mean by "a short walk", I wouldn't be. Curbs are a significant problem for me, and a block is a very long distance. I still manage a flight of stairs several times a day, but in the last couple of years I've started to need stairs that are narrow enough for me to hold onto the handrails on both sides. OTOH, my sister can no longer manage stairs (as of about a year ago).
Not the first. There have been several, depending on what measure you use.
Agent is a term lawyers use for some entity delegated to do a task for another agent. That's what I meant by "legal agent". I'm not a lawyer, so I don't want to be too definite about just what it means, but delegating a task to a agent doesn't relieve you of responsibility for how they do the job. And I don't think you can assume that maps precisely onto the way agent is used in the context of AI, though the meanings are clearly analogous.
That's a mix of meanings of agent. (Not a total disconnect, though.)
An AI agent is something set in motion by the AI to complete a task.
A legal agent (IIUC..not sure) is a separate legal entity that is accomplishing a task for the delegating legal entity. In that case the delegating entity is legally responsible for the means that the agent used to accomplish the task.
So there's a close connection, but I'm not convinced that the agents used by the AI are legal entities. (Actually, I'm not convinced that the AI, itself, is a legal entity, but the point I was making was that even if it *is*, the delegating entity is still responsible.)
OTOH, if you claim that "The AI did it", then the AI was acting as their agent. So they're still responsible.
The "leap hour" will just never be implemented. There's no need for it. Just avoid returning to Standard time from Daylight saving time one year, and switch the labels.
Unfair. If you actually rely on what he is reported to have said, rather than what others have added, he comes off as a good guy (outside of a few lapses, like that fig tree incident).
I happen to think he's as fictitious as Adam Selene, but that's almost irrelevant.
No, but *do* blame the Israeli government and their supporters.
Yes, but that's not a legal argument.
Perhaps it's intended to be used by their AI?
Since they don't intend to release it, though, I hardly care. If its useful to them, then it's useful to them.
