I don't know anything about Puppy Linux except that it comes highly recommended by many. I haven't used it.

These days running Debian or its derivates, and especially RedHat, Fedora, is exactly like running Microsoft Linux. It's all garbage and it is full of backdoors.

I decided to build my own distro because I did not agree with the direction Linux was going in, for many reasons. Systemd being rammed down everyone's throat was only the latest and most egregious insult, but the enshittification was going on long before that. I had enough.

My distro RUNS CIRCLES around Ubuntu and their ilk. I'm on a core2 desktop right now. It's fast and responsive. It boots quickly. My custom Chromium (heavily stripped down) starts quickly and will load most any site just fine, even on this PC. Terminal windows open instantly. The 'file manager' opens instantly. Ubuntu on the same machine is a bloated, slow, memory hogging POS. It's full of software that "phones home" and is tied to the internet in every possible way. All that code is ripped out of my distro. There is no comparison.

That's exactly what I did. I remember well the last days of systemd on Linux Mint as I built the first iteration of my system. A couple times I accidentally double-mounted virtual filesystems on the target volume (mounted them twice on the same mountpoint), which whenever it happened, caused systemd to crash the whole system 60 seconds later, even if the error were discovered and immediately undone. LOL. Enjoy your shitware, goon.

No, the reason people don't switch to Linux is the same reason people don't do a thousand other things they should be doing: because they are full of excuses. I agree. I am a man who has strongly-held viewpoints about things, based on personal experience and/or deep knowledge resulting from years of study and research. See that giant thruster underneath the "moon lander"? It was supposedly firing for the whole descent to slow the craft so it wouldn't crash...yet for some strange reason, not a speck of that loose dust beneath the "lander" was disturbed in the process. What about those "bootprints" left in the regolith by the actors playing the role of "astronaut"? Soil scientists on earth tell us the only way bootprints could be left in fine dust like that is if there is moisture present. But there can't possibly be any moisture on the moon, now is there?

Watch the press conference after the first "moon landing." Watch the body language of these "astronauts." Do these guys look like heroes returning from an epic first-for-mankind adventure, or a bunch of liars who are ashamed at the bullshit script they are having to read from? Some of us built our own Linux systems from scratch to avoid the dumpster fire that is Ubuntu and related distros. My system runs circles around Ubuntu. I'm posting this from a very responsive and snappy old Core2 desktop.
