GrApHiX42 writes: Starting on Thursday, Google is going to increase the salaries of gay and lesbian employees whose partners receive domestic partner health benefits, largely to compensate them for an extra tax they must pay that heterosexual married couples do not. Google is not the first company to make up for the extra tax. At least a few large employers already do. GrApHiX42 writes: The FCC will announce on Thursday it plans to pursue a "third way" forward in the fight for tough net neutrality rules, opening a new front in an ongoing legal battle that could come to define the commission under Chairman Julius Genachowski. A senior FCC official said Wednesday that the chairman "will seek to restore the status quo as it existed" before a federal court ruled it lacked the authority to regulate broadband providers and set rules that mandate open Internet. The goal is to "fulfill the previously stated agenda of extending broadband to all Americans, protecting consumers, ensuring fair competition, and preserving a free and open Internet," the FCC official said.

GrApHiX42 writes: I pissed away my 20's and now I want to go to school and get a bachelors degree in computer science. The thing is, I'll be 35 when I get out of school and I've read on numerous sites that there seems to be some ageism going on in the IT industry when it comes to older geeks. What have some of the "older" Slashdot readers experienced as far as being replaced or just plain not getting hired because IT is a "young mans game"?
