It's not really worth worrying about. Due to absorption, scattering and inverse square law, this stuff affects practically no one and very few organisms, except for those that directly cling to the containers, even with the lax standards from that time. People just don't understand nuclear decay products and how they interact with water, let alone air. This is of scientific interest perhaps, but not at all worrisome from an environmental perspective.
