Sean Duffy has no business heading NASA or The Department of Transportation. (I'm surprised they let Department of Transportation exist purely because Trans is in the word). He's a reality TV star and a lumberjack sport enthusiast. This administration is setting us back. They will try to get rid of these satellites and contract a private company to provide the service. That way someone can profit from providing the data. I don't want to be here anymore, but there's not a straightforward way to step out.

This was the argument about biofuels 20 years ago. They require energy to make. Just like any other fuel we burn. Refining oil into fuel requires a lot of energy. If we focused on using byproducts from other industries to make biofuels, that might make sense. I put e85 into my vehicle if it's cheap. My mileage suffers. There hasn't really been a move to use biofuels anywhere but on vehicles. I had hoped ethanol might be an option for small engines like lawnmowers. Ethanol burns cleaner, which would be a good move. 80% of my landscaping equipment is battery powered. All that is left is my snowblower, and if the trend continues, I won't need it much longer. We only had one significant snowfall last winter in south central Wisconsin.

I want to be able to move my task bar. I want my start menu organized the way it was in win 10. I don't want a search box in the task bar. I want to organize my stuff. This isn't Google, it's an operating system. The new Outlook is dog shit. The dark theme is high contrast and really jarring. I can't arrange and choose columns for my inbox. Quick parts is gone. So is the quick action function. My company has not forced us to use the new Outlook, but I am not looking forward to changing my workflow. Enshitification is the word we're using now, right?

They got rid of some keys features that I use on a daily basis. Quick parts is gone. They also got rid of the ability to choose what columns appear in the inbox. I want my categories in their own column. This has been a standard option for years. They also took stuff out of the contextual menu so I have to go up to the ribbon for many routine things. The dark mode also looksike shit. At some point my company will probably make us move to the newest version, but I'm not looking forward to it. The task bar in Windows 11 also pissed me off. Why can't we move it? Why doe the start button have to be in the middle? Don't use outlook at home. At work I have no choice.

Marketplace is the part of Facebook I use the most. Communication and transactions are so much easier. I just sold a sailboat and some darkroom equipment. It's an easy way to liberate myself of stuff I don't want of need. The algorithm will show the right people what I want to sell. I keep tabs on some friends on Facebook, but none of the interactions are all that memorable or fulfilling. I feel that way about most social media interactions at this point. Why am I even posting this? Nobody really cares. I going to go shop for radio equipment on marketplace now. Have a nice day.

Comment Fuck Adobe (Score 1) 65

I won't subscribe to Lightroom. I migrated to Darktable. It's just as robust. I am free of Adobe's business model. Fuji RAF files account for the specific nature of their X-Trans sensors. If the industry settle on a common file, I think the format would become bloated with camera specific data.
