Because its an easy money stream like Google and Apple have from phone/photo backups. They have the corporate accounts in Azure now, may as well try to leverage the investment in hardware with the commercial users. Amazon will off and on encourage you to use their cloud backups as an addon to Prime, as well.

Ha, well this sort of synch probably happens with everyone (perhaps all mammals or further out? not sure about avian neurology) but it is interesting that better synchronization correlates with better performance. Not being a neurologist myself I wonder if theta synch the same as what is called 'being in the zone' e.g. when you have 'lost time' drawing/reading/etc.

I do wonder if it is bespoke (in which case the IP just needs transferred) or if it is a commodity item (say professional/institutional cooking appliance) that was used to save money but normally sold with service contracts. In which case the IP can probably still be transferred but the manufacturer and the vendor/contractor that installed it may be distinct and it may be news to GE or whoever that they even have ovens on aircraft carriers.

Our species itself will almost certainly survive but I agree that civilization will be harder to keep standing. Like the climate change denialists may point out, "oh the earth has endured these sorts of temperatures/conditions before" by ignoring rates of change's effects on biota or the narrow range of time technological civilization has existed, there'll likely be at least hunter-gatherer humans around for some time, even if they're reduced to hunting feral cattle.

Yeah the HR guys probably view it as "Can you use basic Office type applications? Yes/No" Which sounds silly if you're a millenial/GenX but a lot of younger folks can be flummoxed by non-mobile OSs at times so it can be good to list as a 'nice to have'. But this AI stuff has gone so quickly from 'useless but fun' to 'useful if you're careful' that anything specific for an interview will be obsolete by the time they're hired.

It was a lot more than 3 months of work and safety studies, especially since they weren't starting from scratch with the methodologies for the various vaccine frameworks used. Even the most novel, the mRNA, was begun for earlier SARS viruses. And something as ubiquitous as mRNA could hardly be safer. Think of how much of it was in your breakfast this morning!

You can't ethically do a double blind placebo trial in humans on a deadly pathogen. That's why animal models exist, and why they are used. Warp Speed was about parallelism, not cutting corners, and planning for structuring the safety testing for the vehicle rather than the payload, which is sensible and the way other vaccines such as flu are done. What you're doing is merely fear mongering about things you don't understand, like linking cancer rates with... FDA safety and efficacy study design? Literally every virus you contract increases your cancer risk a tiny amount: because of the way viral reproduction works, any incomplete cellular infection is a future cancer cell that your body will clear without you noticing or grow into cancer. You'd be hard pressed to find an easier way to reduce that risk than vaccination. But by all means eat natural foods, exercise regularly, and avoid pharmaceuticals you don't need.

He wanted a military parade last time he was in office after seeing one in France and they said it'd be too expensive. This time, now that things like shame and laws are no longer barriers, he's getting one. That they found a good excuse of an event that lined up with it is cool for them but there's no reason to pretend people would complain if he didn't have this particular parade.

For FDA approval you need to provide auditable records of essentially every step of the scientific process. AI could nominally audit the bulk of the data while you do a human audit of 10% to be sure it is good. What I think everyone expects to happen with this administration, though, is that the AI will be a convenient excuse to approve various grifts and snake tallow and that it will take the blame when they turn out to be problematic down the road, replaced with a new and improved "AI gold standard science" grift bot that makes sure you paid a fee in "PlaceboCoin" crypto to the right gatekeeper.
