I was first introduced to the Internet in 1988 when I was at University. The web didn't exist then and the Internet was purely a resource of the acedemic world.

Since then the Internet has evolved into a global communication tool on a huge scale. The main driving force being commercial enterprise. Which we have to thank for pushing the Internet along to the point it's at now.
