Me too. PS Vue wasn't perfect, but it was decent and had all the sports channels I wanted. Taking a quick look at the other options, only Sling has the NFL Network offered. YouTube can suck it. I dropped Hulu when they butchered the interface and it sounds like it hasn't gotten any better. Just great.

Comment Use RT but consider both critic and user score (Score 1) 173

I use Rotten Tomatoes, but look at both the Critic and the User scores. For example, the new movie The Foreigner... when I saw the trailer, hands-down I was going to see this at the theater. Right now RT shows 53% (rotten) on Critics score but 79% (fresh) on User score. Movie goers seems to like it but it's not a critics dream. These usually appeal to me (action, etc.) more than the high critic scores. When the User score is rotten and the critic is fresh, it's probably some artsy bullshit that may not be worth the time. Anyway, RT is just another set of data to consider in making a decision if you haven't already made up your mind.

Comment New Hulu Interface driving people away (Score 2) 108

I think this promotion is to try to deal with the massive rejection of the "New Hulu Experience", i.e. the new interface that sucks and has received massive negative feedback. Hulu has no plans to go back to the previous interface. Many are voting with their wallet, myself included, and dropping Hulu.

Comment Where to get a "dumb" TV (Score 1) 346

Can you even get a TV that isn't a Smart TV anymore? I recently purchased a new TV and I couldn't find any 4K TVs there were not "smart" TVs. I didn't want a smart TV and certainly didn't want to pay extra to have that crap added to my TV, but none were to be found. I didn't want a "monitor" since I needed/wanted the TV tuner and wanted 55" or larger.

And what about the person that leaked this INTERNAL memo to the public? Shouldn't they be reprimanded or something. This would have just been an internal matter if not for the leak. Google could have had a level headed discussion with Damore about his thoughts on improving the workplace. Instead some SJW decided to make it a national news item.

Submission + - USCIS Data Confirms Outsourced H-1B Visa Workers Paid Below Average Wage (qz.com)

FerociousFerret writes: Hard numbers have been released by the US government agency that screens visas for high-skilled foreign workers, and they are not pretty.

Data made available by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for the first time show that the widely made complaint about the visa program is true: a small number of IT outsourcing companies get a disproportionately high number of H-1B visas and pay below-average wages to their workers.
