Honestly when I got my Apple Watch, I was not sure if it would be worth it, or a big waste of money. I don't like jewellery or things on me like that and have not worn a traditional watch in 20+ years.
Now that I have it, it sucks if I forget to wear it. When I forget it, it also happens to be one of the rare times I get a phone call and miss it due to my phone being on vibrate all the time. Don't always notice the vibrate when its in my pocket (usually miss it if its on my desk) but always notice when my wrist starts to buzz.
That and frequent use of the Microsoft Authenticator app is a huge benefit. Don't have do much other than move my hand a few inches to approve a login. May not sound like much, but once you get used to it, it's very handy.
I wish news sites in particular would stop this. CNN in particular is bad at this.
It's really annoying that the videos play on nearly every page and there does not seem to be a way to (natively) turn it off. The videos play but I keep sound on the computer muted so I don't have to listen to it, but it wastes bandwidth. The mobile app also included auto-play videos, which is why I removed it a long time ago.
I do also check out Fox News and while they have video on every page, they at least have a global setting to turn it off. The other news sites I visit don't seem to want to make videos available unless you click specific stories which are video only, or contain video.
For streaming sites like Netflix or HBO, even though I'm there to watch videos, I'm not too keen on having something autoplay whenever I click on a title. Being able to turn that off and choose what happens would be ideal.
I do tech all day. The last thing I want to do when I want to have fun and relax is do more tech. Tinkering around with PC's and custom firmware for phones was fun years and years ago, but now I'm just not that interested in it. Just want stuff to work. A console fits the bill because everything is wrapped up nice and neat in a convenient package.
I push a button, and it works. I don't need to worry about getting a faster video card, or more memory or CPU to make things run better.
I don't want to troubleshoot hardware issues and drivers and all that stuff. It just does what it does with the same experience it was designed for since it was designed for the console its being run on.
They do this at the Singapore airport. When you are walking around you pass quite many points where they are scanning people taking their temperature. Also was quite often if you wanted to enter a shop/restaurant/hotel/etc in the city, they would take your temperature before letting you in.
"Effectively I can't do any more with an iPhone XS or XR that I could do with an iPhone 6."
There are a few feature differences but there is a big difference in performance. I don't see much performance difference between iPhone5 and iPhone 6 (which I still use depending on occasion) but there is a huge difference in performance.
Before I got the iPhone X, both the 5 and 6 were great and I didn't really have any complaints. Now that I have the X, the 5 and 6 just seem very slow.
With that said, my work paid for the iPhone X, and I'm fairly certain if it was coming out of my own pocket I'd probably be looking at something less expensive since 1200euros is quite ridiculous for a phone. However, I greatly enjoy the phone so I'm happy to have it
"Spock, did you see the looks on their faces?" "Yes, Captain, a sort of vacant contentment."
