Those two things are not mutually exclusive. The C-F bond is one of the most stable known to us. It is why these molecules are so hard to deal with. But the function end doesn't necessarily form tight bonds when they interact. They can interact without alteration. If you look at common PFAS compounds, they look a lot like a soap. Which is intentional because the functional group's purpose was to give it a hydrophillic end. Soap molecules don't break down the first time they encounter something. They persist for a while before they start to break up, doing their soap thing until they do. Because of the CF bonds in PFAS (vs the CH in soap) the molecule is extremely stable and those polymer chains just won't break apart. So it persists in soil and water. It bioaccumulates in plants in animals. It sticks around. It travels through the water cycle.

So one thing to note: The compounds we are talking about are not inert. Things like PFAS are used in the manufacture of products like Teflon as well as surfactants in things like firefighting foams. Teflon is about as inert as inert gets. But PFAS and similar compounds have a functional group at one end of the -(CF2)-CF3 chain that breaks that inert property. It is what makes them useful, if they lacked it they wouldn't work for what we need them for. But it's also that functional group (and generally shorter CF polymer end vs something like Teflon's long polymer chains) that allows them to be biologically active compounds.

Their means Reddit's consent and not the user's consent, doesn't it?

100%. Reddit already has at least one deal (reportedly worth around $60M/yr) to sell data to an AI firm. They don't care about privacy, they care about getting paid.

Guess who else needs to build hangars to protect their air assets.

We actually have those for B2's (they spend most of their time in there to protect their RAM coatings). Also I hear that some drones went into hangers through open doors so....

Also, before anyone brings it up, no START did not require that bombers be out in the open. It only required that they be inspectable by either satellite or by inspectors. And Russia withdrew from it in 2023 anyway.
