Official Weekend "what do you have planned" Journal

  • Saturday we go to an exposition of the photos from the photoclub that my wife is member of.

    Sunday we organized a BBQ with the family of my father in law. I hope the weather is going to play along, it's raining right now and has been raining for the past few days.

  • Cows [wistatefair.com], creampuffs [textdrive.com], and some form of pig product [roadfood.com].
  • My plans for this weekend:
    • Move my old skool computing blog to another server and a new url
    • Try to get two new sites up and running (one a shared blog, the other a blog hosting site)
    • Maybe have a few drinks
    • Watch football on TV (Collingwood are playing interstate this weekend)
    • Not give advice to anyone

    Should be an achievable set of goals for the weekend...
  • Friday:
    • Work until I finsh all of the stuff that my boss keeps tossing in my direction. I don't think he remembers that I'll be gone next week and that everything he tells me needs to be done by the 14th I have to do today. He'll figure it out when I don't show up on Monday.
    • Laundry at the townhouse.
    • Packing at the apartment. I've been slacking a bit and have about half of my stuff that still needs to be boxed up.
    • After I finish laundry, pack my suitcase for vacation so that nothing that needs to go with me
  • Fix roof, fix windows (all leaking due to monsoon season), entertain mom/daughter who are visiting, watch V for Vendetta again, and drawdrawdrawwwwwwwww
  • Friday:
    Off to see "Cars".

    Saturday:
    Hopefully collecting some AD&D books in the morning that I won on ebay (assuming the vendor gets back to me in time). Then in the afternoon, we're out visiting a couple of friends from University that we haven't seen for a few years.

    Sunday:
    Meeting up with another friend for lunch, because we were unable to make it to her birthday the other week due to other commitments. Then in the evening, our weekly game of AD&D.

  • next week is my last week. then, 10 days later ...
  • Tonight I might go and see the 9:10 show of The Valiant Ones a 70's HK kung-fu feature. Cats dressed up like Raiden in this one. Tomorrow ~noon I'm going with my boy to pick up 1. a dining room table + 4 chairs and 2. some clothing storage from Ikea. Yeah, not top-tier but I don't need fantastically crafted oak furniture; I need stuff to satisfy my needs that won't break my bank. About 2/3 of my clothes are stacked on my floor in my bedroom. Not a good look no matter now orderly the stacks. Also havi

    • Ah, yes, one of the great rituals of moving: The Assembly of the Swedish Furniture. I just went through that with my new office desk, a big ole' GALANT corner unit with a couple of extensions. Why can't all Ikea stuff be that sturdy?

      As for my weekend...

      Friday: Self-vegetation. I haven't had an evening's downtime in a month, this house has needed so much pre-move-in work. (One of these days, I'll upload the whole story to my .mac account.) Heavy doses of CoH and brain-killing television.

      Saturday: Onc

  • Friday: Take the family to the Y so the wife and I can work out while the kids play.
    Saturday: County fair time!
    Sunday: Chores around the house (hang drapes over sliding door to the deck, weed, trim bushes, etc.)
  • Tomorrow's mah burfday, so I think I'll just relax tonight, veg out at the TV and sip some whisky [laphroaig.com] the wife got me.

    Tomorrow, prolly work on the house some, mow the lawn, domestic stuff.

  • A best friend and former roommate from college is visiting from out-of-state.

    Should be a fun weekend. Which is just what the doctor ordered, after this week of chaos at the office....
  • tonight is a party at the home of one of the waitresses at my fav. watering hole.

    tomorrow is a party at lake Lanier. Much drinking to be done. Sunday will probably be "Recovery day".

  • There's no easy way to tell a man you've spent the weekend partially submerged in his mother.
  • Literally, just chilling out all weekend. Might have a clear-out tomorrow, and I'll probably sit out in the garden with the laptop, seeing as it's a nice sunny day. :)

  • Finishing up my last day at Defcon. I could go into details, but let's just summarize it as "3-day party with minimal sleep."
