So I got a new infestation of termites, mr Termite inspector dude says to me this morning at 7:05am.

Shit.

So now I gotta got get a edger and edge the shrubs two feet away from the house. SHIT SHIT SHIT.

And it cost $200.00 for them to tell me that. And I just flat out missed the damned mound leading to the new infestation. I feel so used :)

Heh.

ADT contractor came out saturday, gave me the hookup. Actual install goes this saturday.

Other than that, not much going on. Still not smoking*. Still not cheating on the diet. Speaking of not cheating, I talked with a good friend of mine who also happens to have a PhD in Pyschology. I asked him why it seemed so much harder for the wife to stop smoking than it did for me. He said that he figured the military had a lot to do with it. I wasn't expecting that answer. Found it interesting. (For the record, she quit a day after I did...just having a harder time with it) He didn't elaborate, but I'm guessing he's referring to discipline maybe? Huh.

    Well, Em didn't post anything until 11 freaking 30 my time, which is really long, and not much else is going on. And slashdot is being...interesting...by which I mean obnoxious. And I went to the zoo yesterday and almost threw this little brat in with the gorillas so that the ape-man could tear her to shreds for throwing pennies at him. At first I wondered where her parents were. Then I saw them throwing coins at the gorillas. No, you little wench, it is not funny that the gorilla is eating your penny.

      There are things I don't understand. Like why no one said anything to the parents.

      • We as in myself and Some Roommates. I don't think Some Guy and I will be at that point for a few more years. Classy 3 bedroom apartment with a huge kitchen on the East Side*, where we will probably be the loud neighbors.

        The only person who said anything was this 10 year old boy who yelled at the girl "Stop throwing coins at the gorillas! They can't digest those and they'll get sick!" It seemed to work because I was waiting to smack her the next time she threw a coin, and that didn't happen.

        Modbombers, usually...though they usually go for Overrated instead of Offtopic, the cowards. (That doesn't appear to have happened [slashdot.org] this time (only one Offtopic mod, and everything else near it is unmoderated), but it's happened to me more than once.)
