Did you want the coyote to catch and eat the Road Runner?

A) No. It would ruin the ambiance.

B) Sometimes, when the coyote did something ingenious but still fell short.

C) Hell yes. I hated the Road Runner. The Coyote is a Martyr to Perseverance.

  • Any of them, Jerry, Tweety, Roadrunner. I was always hoping the "bad guy" would catch up.

    On another note, my mom told me that a friend used to have a t-shirt that had the Wile E. Coyote beat the crap out of the Road Runner, and the Road Runner said "Beep Beep, my ass!"

    As to the first, remember the episode where Wiley Coyote shows he's actually playing along, and that the chase is part of the master plan?
    So he can't catch him, in spite of the fact, that I wanted to see at least one of those schemes work.
    Personally, I think him always failing sent the message that technology was bad.

    But then I think maybe I shouldn't have drunk that jewelry cleaner when I was a kid. ;-)
  • Growing up, the Wile E Coyote and ACME corp were my heroes. I wanted to be able to buy the cool ACME stuff like rocket powered roller skates. I think I may have even asked for them for christmas one year (and wound up with crappy non-rocket-booster skates instead). Wile E. is my hero of the Warner Bros. cartoon world.

    Tweety bird needs to die. After falling off the building for the thousandth time, Sylvester should have just gone postal. Oddly enough, I always rooted for Jerry to beat Tom. At least Je
  • Wile E. Coyote did catch the Road Runner once, but was unable to eat him due to the circumstances surrounding the capture. In an unfortunate bout of cartoon irony, the Road Runner was made larger by going through a large pipe, while our tragic hero remained small. Too small to consume his prey. And such is life.

    Yes, because some of the ACME gadgets were just too cool to not work. But most of the time no.

    Oh, and the second poll... A. Obviously. Duh!

  • Ditto for Tom and Jerry. Jerry drove me nuts. Why must the rat always win??? The cat is supposed to eat the vermin.

    Tweety Bird, on the other hand, is a pet, so I don't think Sylvester should be able to eat him.

    To top it off, my european cousins told me that in their version of Tom+Jerry, Tom would catch and eat Jerry all the time. Grrrr.

      Did they call it the Itchy and Scratchy show? Because there's a show in which you never know which side will prevail. Gory cartoon hijinx at their best...
  • I wish Roadrunner had bought him dinner at Thanksgiving, though. ;-)

    I didn't really like Tweety, but I liked Sylvester, and I do remember one funny Tweety line. Sylester ate him and he climbed out. He'd been wearing a hat, and it was gone. He climbed back in Sylvester's mouth and came back out with the hat. Then he said, "I fordot my wittle hat." I thought it was funny. :-)

    don't care about tweety bird. i do wish he talked differently, though.
