My wife started the year 4 weeks pregnant, lost it at about 7 weeks in January, then we got pregnant again in May, and now we're expecting our second daughter in mid-February.

I think "Empowering" is a good one for me this year. I had started to lose myself in the workaday doldrums of stay-at-home motherhood, and this year I found a number of ways to get back in touch with the person I really am, including the mom. It feels good.

Despite a few occasional high points, life is still generally pretty sucky. Last year was another mediocre year. I'm hoping next year will be better. But I'm not too optimistic. I think it'll be better than this year, but not as good as I'd like it to be (and have had in the past).

      I've thought it would be cool to go back remembering everything, going back to 2nd grade and writing out calculous problems and solving them just to freak out the teachur. My spelling probably wouldn't improve too much.
