Well, gee. Since then it's only been on TBS about ONCE A WEEK for the past TEN YEARS.
Do yourself a favor. Tune in some time. It's a classic. By today's standards the effects are kinda sucky, but remember that back in the day this was heavy duty stuff. This was one of the films with which Spielburg *defined* blockbusters.
For the cultural & historic value alone, it's worth watching. And it's not a bad movie, to boot!
Jaws was the first, last, and only Laser Disc movie I ever saw. Somehow we got rented one, or something from the local library (or maybe somewhere else, fuzzy memory) But I remember being fascinated at the metalic reflective 'record' and the movie scared the pants off me, and I wasn't supposed to watch it either eheh. *whistles innocently* It _is_ available on the net and is under 2 gigs...
You know, the funniest thing about that sig is that I can vaguely recognize it as *probably* some kind of computer programming language (but I have no idea which) -- but I know *exactly* what it means.
"Show me the way to go Home," Irving King, circa 1923: Show me the way to go home I'm tired and I want to go to bed Had a little drink about an hour ago, And it went straight to my head. Where ever I may roam, On land or sea or foam You can always hear me singing this song Show me the way to go home.
Thanks for looking it up- it never occured to me that it was anything other than a song made up for Babylon 5 (and Garibaldi apparently didn't know the 2nd verse- at least, not with 3/4ths of a 5th inside of him...)
I was hoping my favorite song from B5 was also a real song- but an internet search for "We will all come together in a better place" just keeps coming back to B5 references- I swear I heard this song early in my life when my parents were involved in the Catholic Charismatic movement...
When called, I'll put an American up against any fucker in the world. Problem is, they shouldn't have been pulled into this shit.
The guy talked about how old and weary he felt at 22. I never had that experience (although he said he felt as old as 30, grumble, grumble, get off my lawn, damn kids), but I know from my grandfather (So. Pacific from 1942, at age 17 until VJ day) that this shit grows you up quick. Too fucking quick.
I know we're the best. Let's stop trying to prove it.
